Strawberries and chocolate, a match made in heaven! Making the most of some amazingly fresh and juicy strawberries to create a quick dessert option that looks posh but takes minimal effort.
Full of great anti-oxidants.
Large punnet of fresh strawberries
100-150gm good quality dark chocolate – 70% or 85%
1/4 cup flaked almonds
Break the chocolate into a bowl and place over a pan of gently simmering water, stir occasionally to ensure all the chocolate is melted. Do not allow it boil.
Whilst the chocolate is melting, place the almonds in a small non stick pan and gentle brown, place into a bowl to cool.
Once all together, dip each strawberry into the chocolate and sprinkle with toasted almonds. I use baking paper over a rack to place them on, then into the fridge for a little while to set.
