Oh yah, this IS good! I was in need of a quick pick me up this afternoon.
Clients started at 6am, tucked in workout for myself before my morning double expresso then back for emails and study. I’ve been a tad sluggish this week with the cold weather and generally needed some ‘time out’ from food. So on waking this morning I made a decision to fast until such time as I really needed something.
Here’s the recipe ingredients, all of which went straight into the blender.
It made a good sized glass with a small refill.
200ml cold filtered water
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 small red chilli (I keep a stash in the freezer, so I’ve always got some!)
large bunch of fresh spinach leaves (approx 2 cups)
scoop of vanilia protein powder (ISO)
2 tsp ground flax/linseed
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Blitz until smooth, add ice or a little extra water if required. It’s got a nice little burn as it goes down 🙂 The sweetness from the berries and protein powder is more than sufficient without the need to add banana, dates or any other form of sweetener.
